Date: November 14th, 2024
Description: Introducing the PhenX educational workshop series! The first workshop in this series will present guiding principles for the PhenX Toolkit, including consensus building and community engagement. The workshop will share a roadmap of Toolkit features, describe how those features support studies with human participants, and help you be responsive to the increased NIH emphasis on data management and data sharing. The workshop format allows plenty of time for questions – and answers!
Date: December 19th, 2024
Description: Come to this hands-on, interactive workshop to learn how to effectively search the Toolkit to find the protocols for your research, use filters to narrow your results, and build “My Toolkit” of protocols to use in your research. Participants will be able to search the Toolkit to find relevant protocols for their research, use filters to narrow results and create a “My Toolkit” of protocols.
Workshop 3: Tools to help you use PhenX protocols.
Date: January 23rd, 2025
Description: This hands-on, interactive workshop will describe the tools available for each PhenX protocol to allow you to effectively use the protocol in your study. Learn how to determine if the protocol is suitable for your study population, if other protocols are necessary to understand your selected protocol or if it requires special equipment or training to administer, and more. At the end of this workshop, you will have a good understanding of the available tools to help you use PhenX protocols with confidence.
Date: February 20th, 2025
Description: During this hands-on, interactive workshop, learn how to use PhenX tools to integrate protocols into your study and support data management. Learn how to use PhenX data collection worksheets to add protocols to your case report form, and PhenX data dictionaries to integrate selected protocols into your REDCap project. Learn how to Share My Toolkit with colleagues.
Date: March 27th, 2025
Description: This interactive workshop will explore PhenX resources designed to enhance data interoperability, extending the utility of your data. Learn how PhenX variables mapped to data in the dbGaP data repository can support cross-study analysis. Gain understanding of how PhenX protocols are associated with (or annotated with) semantic standards and ontologies such as Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) and Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO). Browse the Toolkit using a Tree organized on Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), the NLM controlled vocabulary thesaurus used for indexing articles for PubMed. Join us to increase your understanding of the Toolkit features that support data interoperability.
Workshop 6: PhenX COVID-19 Library and Collections.
Date: April 17th, 2025
Description: During this hands-on, interactive workshop, learn how to utilize the PhenX COVID-19 Collections and Library. Learn about the COVID research collections in the Toolkit, including History, Treatment and Outcomes, and Long COVID. Explore the COVID-19 library of existing COVID-19 instruments. And finally, learn about the COVID-19 Variable Compare Tool (VCT). Learn how these tools facilitate high-quality data collection and analysis related to COVID-19.
